On December 25, Russian troops struck an evacuation mission in Kostiantynivka, Donetsk region, with a drone. One person was killed, and two others were wounded, according to the head of the Kostiantynivka city military administration, Serhii Horbunov.
Horbunov notes that the Kostiantynivka community suffers daily from brutal Russian attacks. Russia continues to use tactics of targeted hunting for people with FPV drones in residential areas of the city.
"One civilian was killed when a Russian drone hit a fiber optic cable. His life was cut short instantly by Russia's targeted strike. Two more people suffered injuries of varying severity," he says.
The head of the city military administration specifies that at the time of the Russian attack, the victims were engaged in the most important task - evacuating people from dangerous areas. It was another evacuation mission aimed at saving the lives of community residents.
A passenger car belonging to the Kramatorsk Volunteer Association, a public organization, also came under Russian fire. This vehicle was used daily to evacuate civilians, transporting people from the most dangerous areas.
No damage to residential buildings was reported during this Russian strike.
"The Kostiantynivka city military administration once again emphasizes that there are no safe places left in the community. Russia is targeting civilian vehicles and ordinary pedestrians. The best way to protect yourself and your loved ones is to evacuate to safer regions," Horbunov adds.
