Russia strikes energy sites again: Over 6,000 lose power in Zaporizhzhia region

The Russian army launched strikes on energy infrastructure in the Zaporizhzhia region, leaving 6,000 customers without electricity, according to the Telegram channel of Ivan Fedorov, head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration.
According to Fedorov, almost 3,000 customers in frontline settlements have been left without power due to the Russian attack.
"As a result of the enemy strikes, more than 6,000 customers remain without electricity in the Ukrainian-controlled territory. Half of them have been without power for a long time," he wrote.
He clarified that repair crews will begin restoring power as soon as the security situation allows.
As a reminder, during the night of May 7, Russian forces attacked energy and other infrastructure in Zaporizhzhia. As a result, tens of thousands of residents were left without electricity, but power companies quickly restored supply.
Russian attack on Zaporizhzhia
Earlier, on the evening of May 6, Russian forces launched an attack on Zaporizhzhia using Shahed drones. Several buildings were damaged, and people were reported trapped under the rubble.
Later, it was confirmed that overnight on May 6, Russian forces launched 136 attack drones and decoy UAVs against Ukraine from six directions.
