Russia strikes energy facilities and port in Ukraine's Odesa region: Ships damaged

Russia attacked energy and port infrastructure in several cities in the Odesa region overnight. Several ships were damaged as a result of the Russian strikes, and there are reports of injuries, according to the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and Odesa Regional Military Administration head Oleh Kiper.
"On the night of November 17, Russian terrorists again launched a massive attack on the Odesa region with strike drones. Explosions were heard in several cities. Despite the effective work of air defense forces, damage to energy and port infrastructure was recorded," Kiper says.
According to him, several civilian vessels were damaged during the Russian attack. The fires that broke out were quickly extinguished by rescuers. Unfortunately, one person was injured. Restoration work is ongoing.

Over 32,000 residents are without power
According to DTEK, about 4,000 families were reconnected using backup schemes. Another 32,500 are temporarily without power.
"Our power engineers will begin restoration work immediately after receiving permission from the military and rescue workers. The damage is significant. Repairs will take time," the company says.
The State Emergency Service of Ukraine notes that the strikes caused fires at energy and port infrastructure facilities. Units of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine and local fire brigades were involved in eliminating the consequences.
Russian strikes on Odesa region
On the night of November 16, Russian troops once again attacked civilian infrastructure and energy facilities in the Odesa region. In particular, a solar power plant was damaged.
The situation with electricity supply in the Odesa region is difficult due to regular Russian attacks on energy facilities. RBC-Ukraine reported that on the night of October 22, the Russians launched another strike on the company's energy facility. As a result of the Russian attack, over 14,000 families were left without electricity.
In the city of Izmail, strikes caused fires at energy and port facilities, but there were no casualties. 23 humanitarian points were operating there, providing a minimum level of life support for the population.
The day before, on October 21, after an accident at another energy facility in Odesa, about 11,000 customers were left without electricity.
