On the morning of Wednesday, October 29, an explosion was recorded in Chernihiv. Russian troops attacked critical infrastructure in the central part of the city, according to the head of the Chernihiv regional military administration, Dmytro Bryzhynskyi, and the Chernihiv City Council.

Russia struck within the city limits, and residents were urged to remain in shelters.

Russia's target was a critical infrastructure facility. Information about the victims is currently being verified.

The Chernihiv City Council adds that this is the second Russian attack on the same facility - the previous strike took place on the night of October 28.

As of 8:30 a.m. Kyiv time, there were no reports of casualties, and no one had sought medical assistance. Emergency and rescue services are working at the site.

Russian strike on Chernihiv and region

Russian troops strike the Chernihiv region almost daily, targeting critical infrastructure and the region's energy system. Russian attacks often result in damage to energy facilities.

On October 27, the Russians launched a massive drone strike on Chernihiv. 2 People were injured by falling debris.

On the night of October 21, the Russian invaders launched a combined strike on the region. As a result of the Russian attack, hits on energy facilities were recorded.

Earlier, the Russians damaged energy infrastructure facilities in the Chernihiv region with drones and missiles. After that, the city itself and part of the region were blacked out.
