The Russian army has intensified assault attacks in the Southern-Slobozhanskyi direction. Measures are being taken to prevent any deterioration of the tactical situation, the Joint Forces Group reports.
Over the past day, 28 combat engagements were recorded in the area of responsibility of the Joint Forces Group.
In particular, the Defense Forces of Ukraine stopped enemy attacks in the areas of Prylipky and toward Hrafske.
At the same time, Russian troops intensified their offensive operations against the settlements of Ternova and Dehtiarske.

Fighting in the Vovchansk area
Earlier, the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that the situation in Vovchansk, in the Kharkiv region, remains under control, and that the enemy is attempting to bypass the city and expand its zone of influence. The main threat at present is not direct assaults, but persistent attempts by the enemy to bypass Vovchansk and create a bridgehead for further advance.
Ukrainian units are keeping the situation under control and are responding promptly to any attempts by Russian forces to advance in the area. At the same time, within the city itself, Russian forces are trying to advance in the southwestern part, where fierce fighting continues.
As reported by Viktor Trehubov, head of the Communications Department of the Joint Forces Group, the plans of Russian forces for January are already clear. In particular, the enemy seeks to bypass Vovchansk, eliminate the Ukrainian bridgehead east of Kupiansk, advance toward Lyman, and carry out infiltration operations there.
Details on Putin's plans and possible war scenarios this year are available in the RBC-Ukraine report.
