Russian forces intensified attacks with guided aerial bombs (KABs) on Defense Forces positions and frontline settlements in August, according to the press service of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine.

The high-intensity combat persisted along the entire front throughout August, the report says. The enemy continues attempts to carry out its aggressive plans, maintaining active combat operations and trying to breach the Ukrainian defense line.

The General Staff reported 5,027 combat engagements over the month. On August 28 alone, the enemy attacked Ukrainian positions more than 190 times.

"Russia ignores the global community’s efforts to end the war against Ukraine. Instead, the Russian army’s aviation is increasing air terror. In August, the use of aerial bombs equipped with universal planning and correction modules increased," the Ministry of Defense said.

In total, Russian aviation dropped 4,390 KABs on Defense Forces positions and frontline settlements in August, more than the previous month (3,786).

The highest number of KABs used in 2025 remains in April, with over 5,000 bombs.
