Russia sets new condition for Ukraine peace agreement after Rubio talks

An essential element of compromise must be included in any peace agreement on Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said, according to TASS.
The Kremlin leader's ally made a new statement on Ukraine after concluding talks with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
"Any agreement on Ukraine must contain an essential element of compromise," Lavrov said.
Against this backdrop, he commented on his US counterpart's remarks about the failure of talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin in Alaska.
According to the Russian foreign minister, it remains to be determined who exactly failed.
"If there is a proposal and there is agreement, then were there agreed results in Anchorage? There were. President Trump, and I will not reveal any great secret, repeatedly said that our proposal was partly a compromise. We accepted this: it is a compromise proposal, and any agreement must probably contain an essential element of compromise," Lavrov added.
He also once again lashed out with accusations against Kyiv's allies, including the United States, which supplies Ukraine with weapons to fight Russia.
Earlier, it was reported when the United States would be ready to intervene in Russia's war against Ukraine.
Moreover, it became known what new demand Lavrov had made to Rubio regarding Ukraine.
