Russia's strategic naval nuclear forces are on full combat alert, Putin's aide Nikolai Patrushev said, according to RIA Novosti.
According to him, the Russian Navy is currently protecting Russia's national interests in various parts of the world's oceans.
Patrushev said that all threats posed by potential adversaries are taken into account in the Navy's development plans, including the Naval Development Strategy through 2050 and the draft Shipbuilding Program through 2050.
Earlier, the aggressor state once again resorted to nuclear rhetoric, calling such weapons one of its main "trump cards." Russian President Vladimir Putin's spokesperson, Dmitry Peskov, said that Moscow is ready to use nuclear weapons if Russia's existence is threatened.
In addition, Peskov claimed that the so-called special military operation was initially conceived as a military operation but, due to what he described as Western interference, turned into a real war.
Meanwhile, Finnish President Alexander Stubb said that Beijing is convinced Russia will not dare to use nuclear weapons.
At the same time, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy warned that the Russian leader could resort to further escalation and launch aggression against other countries if he fails to achieve his objectives in the war against Ukraine.
