On the night of Sunday, April 19, the Russian city of Taganrog was attacked by unknown missiles. As a result of the strikes, a fire broke out near one of the enterprises, according to Russian Telegram channels.
According to the posts, the missile strikes on Taganrog began around 4:45 AM Kyiv time. At that moment, the first footage of the fire and thick smoke began circulating online. However, there was no information about what exactly was hit.
About an hour later, OSINT channels suggested that the Taganrog Automobile Plant (TagAZ) was likely attacked. This is a company that assembled passenger and freight vehicles of various brands, but due to financial problems, the plant has recently been making drones for the Russian army.
A little later, Telegram channels noted that on the territory of TagAZ, there is an enterprise called Atlsnt Aero, which produces Molniya strike-reconnaissance drones, as well as components for Orion drones.
According to recent reports, the strike was most likely aimed at Atlant Aero. Local authorities have not yet commented on the situation.
Other attacks on Russia
Tonight, not only the Rostov region but also the Krasnodar Krai of Russia came under attack. In particular, unknown drones attempted to strike the seaport in Yeysk, after which smoke rose in the area of the facility, and some public channels also reported a fire, although local authorities denied the fire.
Speaking of Taganrog: at the beginning of this year, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported that on the night of January 13, Ukrainian forces struck the aforementioned Atlant Aero enterprise with missiles. This, in turn, reduced the Russians' capabilities for drone production.
