On the night of April 18-19, unknown drones attacked the Krasnodar region of Russia. The likely target of the drones was the seaport in Yeysk, according to Russian Telegram channels.
According to local public channels, the attack on the region began around 10:20 PM (Kyiv time). Within half an hour, the first footage of the aftermath began appearing on social media.
In particular, it was claimed that explosions were heard in the port area of Yeysk, and smoke was captured on video.
A little later, some Telegram channels, citing local residents, reported that there was not just smoke but an actual fire in the port area. However, authorities deny this information.
"In Yeysk, in the area of the seaport, drone debris fell. There are no casualties. No fires have been recorded either. Emergency and special services are working at the scene," said the operational headquarters of Russia's Krasnodar Krai.
No other details about what happened are available yet, but public channels reported that in addition to Yeysk, Russian air defense was active over Sochi and Gelendzhik. No information on possible consequences has been released.
Large-scale attacks on Russia and beyond
The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recently reported that on the night of April 18, Ukrainian Defense Forces struck four Russian oil refining facilities.
In particular, Ukrainian strikes caused fires at the Novokuybyshevsk and Syzran refineries in the Samara region, the RPK Vysotsk Lukoil-2 oil loading terminal in the Leningrad region, and the Tikhoretsk oil refining station in Russia's Krasnodar Krai.
In addition, SSU (Security Service of Ukraine) drones struck three ships, a radar station, and Russian logistics facilities in temporarily occupied Crimea.
