Russia's summer offensive: Ukrainian military reveals situation on frontline

Russia has not yet launched a full-scale summer offensive. The frontline situation remains stable without significant escalations, RBC-Ukraine reports, citing Viktor Tregubov, Spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic group of Ukrainian troops.
In particular, Ukraine's Defense Forces are not currently seeing a significant increase in combat clashes since the beginning of summer.
Tregubov noted that in his area of responsibility, the enemy was most active during the first half of the year, so no sharp escalation is currently observed.
The Ukrainian military also pointed out that the number of combat clashes has even slightly decreased, although this falls within the margin of statistical error. If a major escalation does occur, it is likely to take place in other parts of the frontline - in the north.
According to Tregubov, Russian troop activity remains steady, without sharp fluctuations.
Ukrainian forces are currently holding the line, focusing on inflicting maximum losses on enemy personnel and equipment. Counteroffensive actions are being carried out only locally and without prior announcement.
"Active counteroffensive operations are currently not being conducted, except for some local ones, and if they are carried out, it will obviously be without warning," the Ukrainian military said.
Russia's summer offensive
Earlier, The Washington Post reported that the large-scale offensive is expected to focus on the eastern part of the Donetsk region. The media outlet noted that this summer may be Vladimir Putin's last chance for a major offensive.
A US official told CNN that the likely offensive would aim to seize more territory in eastern Ukraine.
Furthermore, Russian leader Vladimir Putin announced on May 22 plans to capture part of Ukraine's territory near the border.
