Over the past day, from September 21 to 22, Russian losses at the front amounted to 1,500 soldiers, 52 armored fighting vehicles, and two multiple-launch rocket systems, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to September 22, 2024, are estimated to be:

  • personnel - about 642,420 (+1,500) troops;
  • tanks - 8,768 (+22);
  • troop-carrying AFVs - 17,222 (+52);
  • artillery systems - 18,333 (+63);
  • MLRS - 1,195 (+2);
  • anti-aircraft systems - 949;
  • aircraft - 369;
  • helicopters - 328;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 15,628 (+67);
  • cruise missiles - 2,595;
  • warships/boats - 28;
  • submarines - 1;
  • vehicles and fuel tanks - 25,023 (+57);
  • special equipment - 3,144 (+19).

The General Staff noted that due to the ongoing receipt of updated intelligence data, there was a need to adjust some positions regarding total enemy losses, specifically for cruise missiles. The overall figure has been corrected, and daily losses are reported in the usual manner.

Frontline situation and enemy shelling

According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the enemy's forces are advancing in the Kursk region, as well as in the Kharkiv and Donetsk regions. The Ukrainian Armed Forces are repelling mechanized assaults with a significant amount of equipment.

Last night, Russia again attacked Ukraine using Shahed drones.

Explosions were reported near Khmelnytskyi due to the operation of air defense systems.

Additionally, the Russian army struck Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs. More than 20 people were reported injured as a result of the attack.
