In Kharkiv, the number of people injured due to a hostile airstrike on the evening of Saturday, September 21, has risen to 18. The attack on the city was carried out by Russian troops using an aircraft from Belgorod, Russia, according to the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office and the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

What is known about the attack

"Today around 11:00 PM, the enemy conducted a massive bombardment of Kharkiv. As in previous attacks, the enemy used a Su-34 aircraft, which launched three guided aerial bombs from the city of Russia's Belgorod," reported the head of the Kharkiv Regional Prosecutor's Office Oleksandr Filchakov.

It is noted that preliminary information indicates the enemy utilized FAB-250 aerial bombs.

One of the two guided bombs struck in the Shevchenkivskyi district of Kharkiv, landing five meters from a 16-story residential building. The location of the second bomb's impact is currently being determined.

"The third guided bomb hit the territory of the Malodanylivska community in a residential area," Oleksandr Filchakov stated.

In Kharkiv's Shevchenkivskyi district, the bombing damaged three residential high-rises, destroyed nine civilian vehicles, and damaged 20 others.

As reported at 12:44 AM (Kyiv time), the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration indicated that a total of 13 people aged between 8 and 84 were injured due to the Russian bombardment. The official added that among the injured were three children aged 17, 17, and 8.

"Two individuals are in serious condition. Three are in mild condition. All others are in moderate condition. Six people have been hospitalized," Oleh Syniehubov reported.

However, he later clarified that the number of injured had increased to 18, with most experiencing acute stress reactions.

However, at 2:07 a.m., the head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration informed that 21 people injured in the Russian bomb attack on Kharkiv had already sought medical care.

The State Emergency Service of Ukraine (SES) has reported that enemy shelling damaged the windows and facades of seven apartment buildings, a preschool, and 21 vehicles.

"Sixty-eight individuals were evacuated from a 16-story residential building that was hit by an enemy bomb," emergency responders stated.

Additionally, firefighters extinguished blazes in four vehicles over a total area of 50 square meters. Rescue operations also included dismantling the destroyed entrance structure of the apartment building.

"Eight units of equipment and 44 SES rescuers were involved in responding to the enemy strike," the emergency services reported.

What preceded

It is recalled that on Saturday, September 21, explosions occurred in Kharkiv due to a hostile airstrike utilizing guided bombs.

Local authorities reported impacts on a residential high-rise in the Shevchenkivskyi district. Additionally, over ten individuals were reported injured, including three minors, one of whom is a child.

Earlier reports indicated that on the night of September 20, Russian forces attacked Kharkiv with guided aerial bombs, affecting three districts of the city and injuring 15 people.
