Frontline situation
Overnight on March 14, Ukraine’s Defense Forces struck targets inside Russia, hitting the Afipsky oil refinery and infrastructure at the Kavkaz port, according to the General Staff. The refinery, which processes about 6.25 million tons of oil annually, was hit and caught fire. Both facilities are reportedly used to supply the Russian army, while the extent of the damage is still being assessed.
Ukraine’s military intelligence said it disabled two Russian vessels during a night operation on March 13–14 near the Kerch Strait. Special forces struck the rail ferry Slavyanin, putting it out of operation, while the vessel Avangard was damaged. Both ships were part of the Kerch ferry crossing and were used to transport weapons, ammunition, and military equipment for the Russian army.
