Frontline situation
Ukrainian forces carried out a series of strikes on Russian military targets on March 8 and overnight into March 9, the General Staff reported. The attacks targeted air defense systems, including S-300 Radar and a Buk-M3 system, as well as several Russian command and observation posts in occupied areas. Ukrainian strikes also hit locations where Russian troops were concentrated, with damage assessments still ongoing.
Ukraine's Naval Forces, together with Special Operations Forces, carried out a successful operation in occupied Crimea, striking several Russian military targets. The attack destroyed three Pantsir-S1 air defense systems, a mobile fire group, and a Russian BK-16 high-speed landing craft in Novoozerne. Ukrainian forces also hit the Kirovske airfield, destroying an Orion drone storage site and four control stations.
