Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 9: +1,030 troops, 49 artillery systems, and 32 APVs

Over the last day, from August 8 to August 9, the Russians lost 1,030 soldiers and 86 vehicles at the front, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to August 9, 2024, are estimated to be:
- personnel - about 588,540 (+1,030) troops;
- tanks - 8434 (+3);
- armored personnel vehicles - 16,341 (+9);
- artillery systems - 16,536 (+49);
- MLRS - 1142;
- anti-air warfare systems - 916 (+2);
- aircraft - 366;
- helicopters - 327;
- UAVs operational-tactical level - 13,325 (+32);
- cruise missiles - 2,424;
- warships/boats - 28;
- submarines - 1;
- vehicles and fuel tankers - 22,371 (+86);
- special equipment - 2,769 (+2).
According to ISW, positional fighting is taking place at the front. Russians have advanced near the borders of Donetsk and Zaporizhzhia regions.
Meanwhile, Kyiv is trying to get permission from the United States to fire ATACMS missiles at Russian airfields.
