Russia's losses in Ukraine as of August 4: +1,240 troops and 1,792 drones

Ukrainian Ministry of Defense's latest battlefield report points to continued pressure on Russian forces, with fresh losses recorded in both manpower and military hardware.
The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to August 4, 2026, are estimated to be:

Frontline situation
On August 1 and 2, the Russian army continued offensive operations in the Sloviansk sector. Russian forces once again failed to achieve successes on this section of the front - Ukrainian soldiers carried out successful counterattacks.
Russia's army is losing up to 40,000 personnel on the battlefield every month, with more than 60% of those losses reported to be fatalities. Contract recruitment is no longer sufficient to replace these losses, prompting discussions in the Kremlin about a new wave of mobilization.
In addition to mobilization problems, Russia suffers daily attacks on Wildberries' warehouses, the country's largest marketplace. Data shows that in just a matter of weeks, the Ukrainian Armed Forces damaged over 17% of the marketplace’s entire logistics infrastructure.
