The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has revealed data on the losses of Russia's army since the start of the full-scale invasion of Ukraine as of the morning of August 25, according to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

The total combat Russian losses from February 24, 2022, to August 25, 2025, are approximately as follows:

  • Personnel - approximately 1,075,160 (+870) Russian troops were eliminated;
  • Tanks - 11,129 (+1);
  • Troop-carrying AFVs - 23,164 (+8);
  • Artillery systems - 31,858 (+48);
  • MLRS - 1,472;
  • Anti-aircraft systems - 1,210;
  • Aircraft - 422;
  • Helicopters - 340 units;
  • UAV operational-tactical level - 52,935 (+291);
  • Cruise missiles - 3,598;
  • Warships/boats - 28;
  • Submarines - 1;
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks - 59,512 (+79);
  • Special equipment - 3,944 (+4).

Situation on the front

The situation of the Russian army in the Pokrovsk direction worsened after the Ukrainian Defense Forces broke through to the village of Myrne, finding themselves behind Russian units.

Over the past day, the Russians have launched 1,789 kamikaze drones and carried out 2,978 shellings of Ukrainian military positions and settlements.

On August 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that unpleasant surprises await the Russian troops.

Shortly after his statement, Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Oleksandr Syrskyi reported that the Armed Forces of Ukraine had liberated three villages in Donbas.
