The Ukrainian defense forces continue to inflict significant losses on Russian occupiers in terms of personnel and equipment. For instance, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated another 330 invaders in a day and also destroyed 12 APVs, 4 tanks, and 38 enemy artillery systems, according to the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

The total Russian combat losses from February 24, 2022, to September 28, 2023, are estimated as follows:

  • Personnel: Approximately 277,320 (+330) troops eliminated,
  • Tanks: 4,679 (+4),
  • APVs: 8,962 (+12),
  • Artillery systems: 6,375 (+38),
  • MLRS: 793 (+1),
  • Anti-aircraft warfare systems: 535 (+1),
  • Aircraft: 315,
  • Helicopters: 316,
  • UAVs operational-tactical level: 4,997 (+9),
  • Cruise missiles: 1,529,
  • Ships/boats: 20,
  • Submarines: 1,
  • Vehicles and fuel tanks: 8,815 (+23),
  • Special equipment: 929 (+2).

Frontline situation

According to the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine as of the morning of September 28, there have been 26 combat clashes on the fronts in the past day. Our military continues defensive operations in the east and south of the country, as well as offensive operations in the Melitopol direction and offensive actions in the Bakhmut direction.

The Ukrainian Air Force conducted 7 strikes on enemy personnel, weapons, and military equipment concentrations in the area. Our defenders also destroyed 2 reconnaissance UAVs. Units of the missile troops of the Ukrainian Armed Forces inflicted defeats on the enemy's command post, the S-300 anti-aircraft missile system, and 6 artillery assets of the occupiers.
