On the night of Saturday, August 9, the Russian army attacked Balakliia with drones. There was damage reported in the central part of the city, according to the Telegram channel of Vitalii Karabanov, head of the Balakliia City Military Administration.

As of 06:20 Kyiv time, it is known that a private residence and a non-residential building were hit, causing a fire at the site. Additionally, nearby apartment buildings suffered damage.

All necessary emergency services immediately began working at the scene, surveyed the area, and extinguished the fire.

“Property has been damaged, buildings destroyed, and people have suffered serious stress. We are doing everything possible to provide assistance to the victims and to eliminate the consequences of this crime as quickly as possible,” writes Karabanov.

Night attack by Russia

Last night, the Russian army launched attacks on Ukraine using strike drones from multiple directions. It is now confirmed that the city of Chuhuiv in the Kharkiv region was targeted.

Preliminary reports indicate that drones struck one of the remote neighborhoods of the city. As a result of the UAV strike, two people were injured and a multi-apartment building was damaged.

There were also reports of a strike on the Balakliia community. The drones targeted the central part of the city, where several impact points were recorded.

One of the strikes hit a private residential property, and another struck a non-residential building.

Additionally, early in the morning, the Air Forces reported a high-speed target heading toward Dnipro - explosions were heard there as well.
