Russia's brazen conduct in talks may trigger new steps after Spiderweb – Zelenskyy Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine (Vitalii Nosach, RBC-Ukraine)

Ukraine may take further action against Russia following operation Spiderweb, as the Russian delegation continues its brazen behavior during negotiations, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said while speaking to journalists.

The head of state noted that during today's talks in Istanbul, the Russian delegation behaved "a bit more calmly" than at the previous meeting. However, their insolence had not gone away.

"Insolent people behaved a bit more modestly. Well, we'll see — maybe a few more steps are needed, and then everyone will try to behave like human beings," he added.

Operation Spiderweb

On June 1, Ukrainian drones struck several Russian airfields that hosted strategic bombers used to launch missile attacks on Ukraine.

According to the head of Ukraine's Security Service (SBU), Vasyl Malyuk, the attack damaged or destroyed 41 Russian aircraft.

The operation had been in preparation for a year and a half. The drones were launched from inside Russian territory.

More details about Spiderweb can be found in the RBC-Ukraine report.
