In the Moscow region, near the cities of Lyubertsy and Ramensky, explosions were reported during the night of September 10. The cause was attributed to air defense operations in response to detected drones, according to Moscow Mayor Sergei Sobyanin.

According to the mayor of Moscow, air defense forces successfully repelled a drone attack aimed at Moscow over the Lyubertsy municipal district.

The mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, stated that preliminary reports indicated no damage or casualties at the site of the debris.

Sobyanin also noted that emergency services were working at the incident location.

Later, he updated on Telegram that two more drones targeting Moscow had reportedly been shot down in the Ramensky municipal district.

Later, Sobyanin announced that four more drones heading toward Moscow were shot down in the Podolsk district.

Additionally, the Moscow mayor reported the downing of two more drones in the Domodedovo urban district and the interception of another drone by air defenses in the Ramensky urban district. All of them, he said, were on their way to Moscow.

Meanwhile, social media circulated footage of the nighttime explosions in the Moscow region. Reports mentioned up to six explosions heard around Zhukovsky and air defense activity in the Shchurovo-Bomcharovo area.

Russian media report that Moscow’s airports, Vnukovo and Domodedovo, were closed to departures and arrivals due to the overnight drone attack. A so-called Carpet Plan has been implemented.

Air attacks in Russia and occupied Crimea

Earlier it was reported that late in the evening of September 9, it was reported about explosions in the temporarily occupied Crimea in the village of Oktiabrske. According to the reports, the Russian troops took off from the Saky airfield.

Russian monitoring channels suggested a possible drone launch towards Cape Tarkhankut and further east. There were also reports of air defense activity by the Russian troops in Crimea.

Additionally, the Russian side reported a drone attack in the Bryansk region, where air defense forces claimed to have downed over twenty drones.

Authorities in Lipetsk and Voronezh regions also warned of potential drone strikes, while the governor of the Kursk region reported missile threats in the region.
