Russia rejects ceasefire: RBC-Ukraine reveals Presidential Office’s reaction to Trump-Putin talks

The Office of the President of Ukraine has responded to the talks between US President Donald Trump and Russian President Vladimir Putin, stating that Russia has rejected a ceasefire, according to the RBC-Ukraine's sources in the Presidential Office.
"We are still waiting for details from the American side, but right now, Shaheds are in the sky, and there is a missile threat in our country, so the agreements are not working yet," the source said.
The Presidential Office emphasized that the initial proposal for a ceasefire in the air and at sea came from Ukraine. However, the US suggested going further by implementing a full ceasefire.
"But now the Russians themselves have rejected it, meaning they need a war," the source added.
The Office also noted that they are working on the next steps to achieve peace in Ukraine.
"We are currently clarifying the details at the team level and are ready to take further steps together with our partners. However, it must be done together with the partners, as that is the only way to make it effective," the sources said.
Trump's conversation with Putin
Today US President Donald Trump had a conversation with Russian President Vladimir Putin. They agreed to begin the path to a truce between Ukraine and Russia.
"The leaders agreed that the movement to peace will begin with an energy and infrastructure ceasefire, as well as technical negotiations on implementation of a maritime ceasefire in the Black Sea, full ceasefire and permanent peace," the White House statement reads.
At the same time, Putin did not accept the US proposal for a complete ceasefire for 30 days, as the Kremlin's statements indicate.
Instead, the Russian leader named the conditions under which a cessation of hostilities could take place. He demands a halt to mobilization in Ukraine and the provision of military aid and intelligence.
After Trump's conversation with Putin, Russia attacked Ukraine. An air alert was announced in Kyiv, and after a while, it spread to the eastern, central, northern, and southern regions due to the threat of a ballistic missile attack.
