Moscow continues to deny that a Russian drone fell on a residential building in Romania – this time, Russia's permanent representative to the UN, Vasily Nebenzya, made the statement, calling the official version into question, reports Clash Report.
Specifically, Russia's UN representative Nebenzya commented on the Russian drone attack on Romania, when a drone fell on an apartment building in the city of Galați.
The Russian envoy questioned the fire on the roof of the building, which resulted in two people being injured.
"If such a drone had indeed hit the roof of a building, the consequences would not have been limited to the fire shown by Romanian media," he said, adding that in such a case, the roof would have been completely destroyed.
Incident with a Russian drone in Romania
During another Russian attack on Ukraine, on the night of May 29, one of the Russian drones crossed the border and crashed into the roof of an apartment building in Romania.
As a result of the strike, an apartment on the 10th floor caught fire. Two people were injured – they received medical assistance on the scene. Rescuers managed to quickly extinguish the fire.
The Ministry of National Defense of Romania determined that the apartment building in Galați was hit by a Russian Geran-2 drone.
Meanwhile, Russia initially denied the incident involving its drone, and later even claimed that it was more likely a Ukrainian drone.
