Russia pushes toward Pokrovsk: Is Ukraine's key defense line at risk?

Russian forces are trying to break through between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka. This area is currently the main focus of their efforts, according to Viktor Trehubov, spokesperson for the Khortytsia operational-strategic troop group.
"In winter, fighting was mostly on the outskirts west and south of Pokrovsk. Now the main Russian mission is to break through between Pokrovsk and Kostiantynivka. They aim to threaten the Pokrovsk-Myronhrad agglomeration from the east and, if possible, from the north," the military official said.
He added that this is why the Pokrovsk direction remains the most intense. Ukrainian forces continue to offer the strongest resistance there.
"Essentially, the fate of the so-called Russian campaign is being decided there. That is the main focus," he said.
At the same time, the spokesperson noted that Russia is still trying to advance into the Dnipropetrovsk region.
"This is the Novopavlivka direction. Despite their efforts, they have stalled. They almost believed they had entered the Dnipropetrovsk region. But as of now, they have not. They are angry and trying to strike villages using guided bombs. They can drop bombs, but infantry cannot advance," he explained.
