The Russian Navy in Kamchatka has launched its first drone control center, Ukrainian analytical website Defense Express reports.

This center will become a key part of building a network of sites for operating reconnaissance and strike drones such as the Forpost and Orion (formerly Inokhodets).

According to the source, the drones will carry out around-the-clock monitoring of territories along the Northern Sea Route and will also strengthen the security of the strategic nuclear submarine base.

The center will be responsible for collecting, processing, and analyzing intelligence information received by the drones during their flights.

The Russians emphasize that the new center will increase the efficiency of drone operations and help ensure continuous surveillance of important northern areas.

This is especially important for the security of nuclear submarines and ensuring their unhindered deployment to the ocean.

The launch of the center comes amid a worsening strategic situation: following recent threats from Russian officials, the US deployed two Ohio-class nuclear-armed submarines near Russian borders.

Earlier, US President Donald Trump ordered the deployment of two nuclear submarines to Russian shores - their exact location remains undisclosed.

Later, Trump confirmed that the two nuclear submarines are already in the region near Russia.

Furthermore, First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov announced that Ukraine is actively working on producing interceptor drones, and there are the first results.
