Russia moves to seize islands on Dnipro River

The Russian army has increased activity in the Dnipro direction. The enemy is conducting a regrouping of forces there, according to the Southern Defense Forces.
"On the Dnipro direction, the enemy is carrying out regrouping, logistical, evacuation, and reconnaissance measures to continue attempts to capture the island area of the Dnipro," the statement said.
In the south, the enemy continues to deliver fire strikes using various types of artillery weapons and multiple launch rocket systems on frontline territories and settlements in the Kherson, Zaporizhzhia, and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
More than forty such shelling attacks were recorded in the past day across 21 settlements.
New Russian tactics
It is worth recalling that, according to the head of the Kherson Regional Military Administration, Oleksandr Prokudin, the occupiers have changed their shelling tactics in Kherson region.
We also reported that Russian forces are concentrating assault groups on the left bank of Kherson region. The enemy is likely planning to seize a foothold in the island area.
According to the spokesman for the Southern Defense Forces of Ukraine, Vladyslav Voloshyn, the Russians have opened a new crossing direction on the Dnipro in southern Ukraine. They are attempting to land on Bugaz island.
“The enemy is trying to cross water obstacles and has recently opened, let’s call it, a ‘new’ direction. This is where their activity has increased, and in just a few days, they have made several attempts to land in the river area — this is the southern part of the Dnipro island system. At the very south, near the settlement of Kizomys, is Bugaz island,” the spokesman said.
