Russian forces attacked Kyiv with ballistic missiles on Thursday evening, October 29, with explosions heard across the capital, Mayor Vitali Klitschko and the Ukrainian Air Force reported.
"Explosions in the capital. The city is under a ballistic missile attack. Stay in shelters," Klitschko wrote on Telegram.
The Ukrainian Air Force reported Russian ballistic missiles heading toward Kyiv.
Local social media channels reported at least eight ballistic missile strikes on Kyiv's Left Bank. The Darnytskyi Bridge may have been among the targets.
"A warehouse building in the Darnytskyi district has been hit. There is a fire. Emergency services are on their way," Mayor Klitschko added.
According to Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko, as of 11:15 p.m., missile debris is burning in the courtyard of a residential complex in the Dniprovskyi district. At another location, a blast wave shattered windows in a residential building. Emergency services are heading to the sites.

Kyiv City Military Administration reported that Russia's assault killed one person. The exact location where the person was killed has not yet been specified.
As reported earlier today, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Russia was preparing new ballistic missile strikes against Ukraine.
The head of state said Ukrainian intelligence had provided the relevant information and added that Ukraine needed the capabilities to shoot down "all this Russian evil."
Defending against ballistic missiles is becoming increasingly difficult. According to Zelenskyy, the United States is currently supplying only 12 Patriot missiles per month. Attacks on Kyiv continue almost every night. On the evening of October 26, a ballistic missile struck a university campus in the Desnianskyi district, killing one person and injuring at least 10 others.
