Russia launches nearly 100 drones and missiles at Ukraine overnight: How many downed
Russia launched nearly a hundred kamikaze drones and various types of missiles at Ukraine overnight on March 29. Ukrainian air defense systems destroyed 84 enemy targets, informs the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk.
During this night, the enemy struck Ukraine's fuel and energy facilities with 99 air attack means:
- 60 Shahed drones (Prymorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk region);
- 3 air-launched ballistic missiles Kh-47M2 Kinzhal (from three MiG-31K fighters - Ryazan region);
- 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (Crimea);
- 9 guided aviation missiles Kh-59 (from nine Su-34 aircraft - Belgorod region);
- 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles (Kursk region);
- 21 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles (from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers - Engels).
Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 84 targets, including 58 drones, 17 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles, five guided aviation missiles Kh-59, and four Iskander-K cruise missiles.
Anti-aircraft units of the Ukrainian Air Force and Ground Forces, mobile fire groups, and EW means were involved in repelling the attack.
Massive attack on March 29
On the evening of March 28, the Ukrainian Air Force reported launches and movement of Shahed drones, and air alerts were declared in several regions.
In the early morning, the Russian occupiers launched missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft. There were also reports of Kinzhal missile launches from MiG-31K aircraft and ballistic missiles from Crimea.
Enemy missiles reached western regions, but the main enemy strike was aimed at the Dnipropetrovsk and Cherkasy regions. Critical infrastructure and energy facilities were targeted there.
It is also known that the Russians attacked three thermal power plants in Ukraine, resulting in serious damage.
