Russian army attacked Ukraine with various missiles on the morning of March 29. They launched cruise missiles, Kinzhals, and ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

The following sources of information were used to prepare the material: Telegram channels of the Ukrainian Air Force, Kyiv Regional Military Administration, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Serhii Lysak, Ukrenergo (national power company), head of the Cherkasy Regional Military Administration Ihor Taburets, DTEK, statement by the commander of the Air Force Mykola Oleshchuk, Telegram channels of the heads of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration and Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration.

Attack on Ukraine

Late in the evening of March 28, the Russian army launched Shahed drones at Ukraine. Some regions were also attacked with missiles.

Early in the morning, the aggressor launched cruise missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft.

"There is a missile threat in the regions where an alert has been declared! Preliminary launches of cruise missiles from Tu-95MS aircraft! Do not ignore the air alert! Take shelter," the Air Force posted.

Later, MiG-31K aircraft took off and launched Kinzhal ballistic missiles. Russians also launched ballistic missiles from the temporarily occupied Crimea.

During the Russian mass attack, Poland activated aircraft. In some cities, the level of noise was raised.

"Tonight, there is intense activity of the long-range aviation of the Russian Federation, associated with missile strikes on objects located on the territory of Ukraine. All necessary procedures to ensure the safety of Poland's airspace have been launched," the military reported.

Missile directions

Cruise missiles entered Ukraine through the Kharkiv region. They moved toward the Poltava, Cherkasy, Kyiv, Vinnytsia, Zhytomyr, and Khmelnytskyi regions. Later, the missiles began to fly over the western regions of Ukraine.

They flew over the Volyn, Lviv, Ternopil, Ivano-Frankivsk, and Rivne regions.

How many drones and missiles were used in the attack

According to the commander of the Ukrainian Air Force, Mykola Oleshchuk, last night the enemy carried out a powerful air strike on fuel and energy facilities in Ukraine, using various types of missiles and UAVs. There were a total of 99 air attack means, namely:

  • 60 Shahed drones (Prymorsko-Akhtarsk, Kursk region);
  • 3 air-launched ballistic missiles Kh-47M2 Kinzhal (from three MiG-31K fighters - Ryazan region);
  • 2 Iskander-M ballistic missiles (Crimea);
  • 9 guided aviation missiles Kh-59 (from nine Su-34 aircraft - Belgorod region);
  • 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles (Kursk region);
  • 21 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles (from 11 Tu-95MS strategic bombers - Engels).

Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 84 targets:

  • 58 Shahed drones
  • 17 Kh-101/Kh-555 cruise missiles
  • 5 guided aviation missiles Kh-59
  • 4 Iskander-K cruise missiles.

10 regions of Ukraine under attack. MIA announces number of casualties

According to the Minister of Internal Affairs of Ukraine Ihor Klymenko, the enemy attacked with missiles and drones targeting the energy infrastructure, civilian objects, and private houses. Overall, 10 regions were affected. Immediately after the strikes, 6 people, including a child, sought medical assistance. Around 10 private houses were destroyed, while dozens more were damaged.

Over 150 rescuers and 35 specialized vehicles of the State Emergency Service were involved in the elimination of the consequences of the nighttime and morning strikes by the Russian Federation.

Target - energy sector

Russians mostly targeted energy facilities. According to Ukrenergo, thermal and hydroelectric power plants in central and western regions were affected.

Minister of Energy Herman Halushchenko later reported that this time the Russian occupiers targeted objects in the Dnipropetrovsk, Poltava, and Cherkasy regions.

In turn, DTEK reported that the aggressor country attacked three thermal power stations. The equipment has been seriously damaged. According to preliminary information, an energy worker has been injured.

Currently, emergency power shutdowns are occurring in the Dnipropetrovsk region, while hourly outages are reported in the Kharkiv region.

Dnipropetrovsk region

Russians launched missiles at the Dnipropetrovsk region.

"Guided aircraft missiles are moving toward the Dnipropetrovsk region in the northern direction," the Air Force reported.

Later, a series of explosions were heard in Dnipro and Kamyanske in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Power went out in one district of Kamyanske.

Serhii Lysak, head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration, stated that Russians attacked critical infrastructure.

"The enemy attacked some critical infrastructure objects in the region. Details to follow," Lysak said.

During the mass attack, Russians also targeted Dnipro, and there were power outages in some areas.

According to Serhii Lysak, several energy facilities have been damaged.

"Several energy facilities have been damaged - in Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, and Kamyanske districts. One person was injured at one of them. He received necessary medical assistance and will recover at home," said Lysak.

Ukrenergo stated that emergency shutdown schedules were being implemented in the Dnipropetrovsk region.

The head of the Dnipropetrovsk RMA later reported that overnight and in the early morning, the air defense destroyed a total of 24 aerial targets over the region, namely 12 missiles and 12 drones.

The enemy targets were destroyed in the Dnipro, Kryvyi Rih, Pavlohrad, Novomoskovsk, and Kamyanske districts.

In addition, the enemy devastated a summer cottage cooperative in Kamyanske, leaving five injured. A 5-year-old girl is among them.

"The child received medical assistance. She will be treated on an outpatient basis. The same goes for the women aged 19 and 47. However, two men, aged 36 and 47, are hospitalized. One of them is in critical condition," added Lysak.

Additionally, three summer cottages were destroyed, and four were damaged. Several cars were also wrecked.

Cherkasy region

According to preliminary information, the air defense downed 6 enemy Shahed drones. Due to the falling debris, a non-residential building was damaged, and windows were also broken in a private household. However, there is also damage to an energy facility.

"In addition, the defenders of the sky shot down a cruise missile in the vicinity of Uman. In this case, there were no consequences. However, we also have missile hits on an energy infrastructure facility. All services are on site. Work to eliminate the consequences is ongoing," wrote the head of administration.

Ivano-Frankivsk

Explosions were heard in the city during the mass attack. The causes are being investigated.

A critical infrastructure facility has been attacked in Prykarpattia.

"The threat did not bypass the Prykarpattia. The enemy's target was a critical infrastructure facility. Fortunately, there were no casualties. At dawn, our brave defenders of the sky downed the aerial targets," said Svitlana Onyshchuk, the head of the Ivano-Frankivsk Regional Military Administration.

Khmelnytskyi region

The Khmelnytskyi Regional Military Administration has reported that today, during the repulsion of an air attack within the region, 3 enemy targets were shot down. There are no casualties or damage to infrastructure facilities.
