Over the past three days, Russia has launched 78 massive attacks on Ukraine's energy infrastructure. Both power plants and electricity transmission facilities have been targeted, according to the DTEK energy company.

Ukraine's energy system has been operating under constant attacks for the fifth consecutive year. No other country in the world has experienced destruction on such a scale and over such a prolonged period.

By comparison, in 2022, Russia carried out 11 massive attacks, primarily targeting power plants. Now, the enemy is constantly changing its tactics and significantly increasing the intensity of its strikes.

The severe damage requires considerable effort and time to repair.

The work of energy specialists is further complicated by constant air raid alerts and the risk of repeated strikes.

Despite all the threats, energy workers are operating around the clock to restore electricity to Ukrainian homes.

Earlier, following a massive Russian aerial attack, three DTEK thermal power plants suffered extensive damage and completely halted electricity generation.

In addition, experts estimate that electricity consumption in Ukraine will rise significantly with the onset of severe freezing temperatures.

Amid continued Russian attacks, some smaller Ukrainian cities risk being left without electricity for several days.
