Three Ukrainian thermal power plants operated by the energy company DTEK have suffered extensive damage and have completely halted electricity generation following a massive Russian air assault, according to the company's statement.

Russia launched another massive attack on energy infrastructure facilities on the night and morning of November 3.

Three DTEK thermal power plants came under attack, with dozens of missiles and attack drones used to strike them.

The plants sustained serious damage and were forced to shut down.

According to the company, restoration work will begin as soon as the security situation allows.

Energy workers are assessing the damage to determine what is needed to address the aftermath of the attack.

Earlier, on the night of November 2, Russia targeted an energy facility in the Odesa region of Ukraine, damaging its equipment.

As a result, Ukraine frequently imposes power supply restrictions and emergency measures.

DTEK has explained that emergency power outages may be introduced and lifted frequently because of ongoing Russian attacks on the energy system. The situation with electricity generation and consumption can change several times an hour.
