Russia launches 22 drones at Ukraine overnight, air defense destroys 21
On the night of July 4, Russian troops attacked Ukraine with 22 kamikaze drones. Ukrainian Air Defense Forces shot down almost all drones, according to Ukrainian Air Force Commander Mykola Oleschuk.
"On the night of July 4, Russia attacked with 22 attack UAVs of the Shahed-131/136 type from the Kursk region," he says.
According to Oleshchuk, as a result of combat work by anti-aircraft missile units, calculations of mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces, and EW means of the Air Force of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, 21 Shahed were shot down.
According to the general, Russian targets were hit within Kyiv, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr, Sumy, Dnipropetrovsk and Poltava regions.

Around midnight, the Ukrainian Air Force warned of a Russian attack. An alarm was declared in Ukraine. Already after 1 a.m., explosions rang out in the Kyiv region, and it was reported about the work of anti-aircraft defense.
As it became known later, all Russian attack drones that tried to attack Kyiv that night were destroyed by Ukrainian air defense on the approach to Kyiv.
