Waves of drones target Kyiv: Details of successful defense against attack

All enemy attack drones that tried to attack Kyiv on the night of July 4 were destroyed on the way to the capital by the forces and means of air defense, reports the head of the Kyiv City Military Administration, Serhii Popko.
It is noted that, according to preliminary information, there were no casualties or damage.
"In Kyiv, preliminarily, there are no casualties or damage. The city's life support systems were not disrupted," the message states.
A representative of the administration informed that the enemy launched drones from the territory of the Russian Kursk region, and the drones approached Kyiv in waves from different directions.
"But thanks to the effective work of the air defense, not a single drone reached Kyiv. The enemy's UAVs were destroyed on the approaches to the capital by air defense forces and means," the official said.
He added that the exact type of enemy air targets will be announced later in a report by the Air Force Command of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
What preceded
On the evening of July 3, an air raid alert was announced in several regions of Ukraine due to an enemy attack using strike drones that entered the country's airspace from the north.
Later, it became known about the work of air defense in the Kyiv region.
The alert signal sounded in the capital around 04:13 AM Kyiv time. After that, explosions were heard in the city. City Administration reported that air defense forces were operating on the approaches to Kyiv and in the region. At 04:51 AM Kyiv time, the air raid alert in the capital was canceled.
