Over the past day, Russian forces attacked more than 70 Ukrainian cities and villages, killing 22 people and injuring another 85, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy reports.

"Yesterday, very important words were spoken by President Trump about how the Russian leadership is wasting the world's time by talking about peace while simultaneously killing people. We all want genuine peace - dignified and lasting: Ukraine, all of Europe, the United States, and many decent leaders and countries around the world who support us," Zelenskyy said.

According to the Ukrainian President, during one past day, when everyone once again felt hope for an end to the killings, Russia killed 22 people in Ukraine, and another 85 were injured. Russian strikes hit 73 Ukrainian cities and villages.

"At 2 a.m. this night, the Russians launched a missile strike on the city of Kamyanske, targeting the city hospital. Three people were killed in the attack, including a pregnant woman. Her name was Diana. She was only 23 years old," Zelenskyy added.

Ukrainian President also noted that late yesterday evening, almost at midnight, Russian aviation bombed a correctional colony in the Zaporizhzhia region.

"It was a deliberate strike, intentional, not accidental. The Russians could not have been unaware that they were targeting civilians in that facility. Many were killed, and another 43 people were wounded, some of them with very severe injuries," Zelenskyy emphasized.

The President of Ukraine also added that every killing, every Russian strike, shows that Moscow deserves very tough, truly painful, and therefore just and effective sanctions pressure. They must be forced to stop the killings and make peace.

"Peace is possible. But only when Russia ends the war it itself started and stops tormenting people," Zelenskyy stressed.

Trump's new deadline for Russia

On July 28, US President Donald Trump announced that he had decided to change the conditions of his ultimatum regarding the imposition of significant tariffs on Russian leader Vladimir Putin. Now, Russia does not have 50 days to reach peace with Ukraine.

Later, the American leader clarified that the Kremlin chief now has 10-12 days left. Trump also mentioned that he is considering not only secondary tariffs but also secondary sanctions against Russia.
