Russia continues to keep a Kalibr carrier on combat duty in the Black Sea. The threat of cruise missile strikes remains, the press service of the Ukrainian Navy reports.

As of 06:00 a.m., Kyiv time on March 31, two ships were recorded in the Black Sea waters. Both vessels are Kalibr carriers with a total salvo capacity of up to eight missiles.

At the same time, as in previous days, no enemy ships are present in the Sea of Azov. However, four vessels are currently in the Mediterranean Sea, three of which are cruise missile carriers with a total salvo capacity of up to 26 Kalibr missiles.

In addition, over the past day, in the interests of the aggressor state Russia, vessels have passed through the Kerch Strait:

  • to the Black Sea – two ships, one of which continued its movement toward the Bosphorus Strait;
  • to the Sea of Azov – four ships, none of which continued their movement from the Bosphorus Strait.

"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling automatic identification systems," the Ukrainian Navy added.

Monitoring ceasefire in Black Sea

Yesterday, the Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, stated that Ukrainian forces are closely monitoring the situation in the Black Sea together with their allies.

In particular, Ukrainian sailors and other branches of the military use various means to monitor surface, underwater, and aerial conditions. According to Pletenchuk, there are no technical difficulties in doing so, as the Black Sea is not that large.
