Russia is preparing 'a false flag operation' in the Black Sea - U.S. State Department
Russia is preparing an operation under a foreign flag in the Black Sea amid a series of strikes by Russia against Odesa, the Danube infrastructure, and the refusal of the "grain deal", states US State Department spokesperson Matthew Miller in his video briefing.
"We have information that suggests that they (the Russian Federation - Ed.) are apparently preparing a false flag operation. They have threatened vessels operating in international waters, which led to the attack on the Danube today," stated Miller.
According to him, the United States will continue consultations with partners in the region regarding alternative ways to export grain from Ukraine.
At the same time, the spokesperson of the US State Department noted that finding an ideal solution that would allow Ukraine to export the same amount of grain as during the Black Sea Grain Initiative without restoring maritime routes is "impossible."
Shelling of Odesa and the region
Russia is attacking the south of Ukraine every night after exiting the 'grain deal.' Specifically, on the night of July 24th, the occupiers struck the Danube ports.
As a result of the attack on the port of Reni, three warehouses were destroyed, and seven people were injured.
