Russian forces have been massively striking Naftogaz Group facilities in two Ukrainian regions for more than 24 hours, resulting in significant destruction and large-scale fires, Naftogaz reports.

Aftermath of strikes

The company states that Russia has targeted oil and gas facilities located in the Kharkiv and Poltava regions.

Industrial equipment sustained serious damage, and large fires broke out at the strike sites. Emergency and specialized services are currently working at the scene.

Naftogaz emphasized that personnel were evacuated in time, and no employees were injured.

However, the overall situation at the facilities remains difficult. Experts currently cannot provide a precise assessment of the damage and extent of destruction, as the threat of further Russian strikes remains.

Earlier reports said that Russian forces significantly intensified strikes on Ukraine's gas infrastructure. In the evening of May 18, Russia launched ballistic missiles at Naftogaz facilities in the Dnipropetrovsk region, causing damage and destruction.

The following morning, on May 19, Russia struck several gas facilities in the Chernihiv region, damaging critical equipment.

In addition, Russian troops continued aerial attacks on May 20, when they targeted Naftogaz facilities in the Chernihiv region throughout the day, combining missile and drone strikes.
