Russia hits Ukraine with mixed missile and drone attack, 18 locations struck

Overnight, Russian forces attacked Ukraine with anti-ship and ballistic missiles, as well as drones. Air defense forces managed to destroy most of the enemy targets, according to the Ukrainian Air Force.
The main target of the attack was the Kyiv region.
During the new attack, the enemy used:
- Zircon/Oniks anti-ship missiles launched from Russia's Kursk region;
- Iskander-M/S-400 ballistic missiles launched from Russia's Voronezh and Bryansk regions;
- 188 Shahed attack drones, 86 of which were jet-powered; Gerbera drones; and Parodiya decoy drones.
This time, aircraft, anti-aircraft missile units, electronic warfare and unmanned systems units, and mobile fire groups of the Ukrainian Defense Forces were involved in repelling the Russian attack.
According to preliminary data, as of 8:00 a.m., air defense forces had destroyed or suppressed 160 aerial targets:
- 5 Iskander-M/S-400/Zircon/Oniks ballistic missiles;
- 155 enemy Shahed, Gerbera, and other types of drones.
At the same time, strikes by enemy aerial weapons were recorded at 18 locations.
As of the morning, enemy drones were still in Ukrainian airspace. Citizens are urged to follow safety rules and remain in shelters during air raid alerts.
Ukrainian Defense Minister Yevhenii Khmara previously gave air defense forces a new important task.
Ukrainian defenders also repelled an enemy attack throughout September 29.
