Last month, Russian forces sharply increased the number of strikes with guided aerial bombs on Ukrainian territory. In October, more than 5,000 glide bombs (KABs) were dropped, the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported.
According to the Ministry of Defense, in October, Russian forces significantly intensified air attacks, sharply increasing the number of strikes with guided aerial bombs (KABs) on the positions of Ukrainian troops and frontline cities.
In just the past month, the enemy dropped 5,328 KABs — the highest figure since the beginning of 2025.
Overall, in the ten months of this year, Russian forces have already dropped about 40,000 aerial bombs, which equals the total number for the entire year of 2024.
"Air terror is increasing," the statement said.
KAB strikes
Recently, the Russian army attacked the Odesa region with guided aerial bombs for the first time. This happened during an air attack on October 24.
According to the military, the region was attacked with three KABs. Two bombs were shot down, and one fell in an open area.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense (HUR) previously reported that Russia has begun mass production of aerial bombs equipped with planning and correction modules.
Such munitions are known under the names Hrim-1 and Hrim-2, but they have identical characteristics — an operational range of 150–200 km. During recent tests, the flight range was extended to 193 km.
According to HUR representative Vadym Skibitskyi, the first strikes with such aerial bombs were recorded in Dnipro, and now Russia is using them against other Ukrainian cities as well.
