On the afternoon of October 24, Russian forces attempted to attack the Odesa region with three long-range guided aerial bombs (UMPB-5). Ukraine's Defense Forces neutralized the threat, according to the Air Command South.

According to the report, the Russian army tried to strike the Odesa region by launching three guided bombs from a Su-34 fighter jet, but their plan failed.

"In the afternoon, Russian occupation forces carried out an airstrike on the Odesa region using three long-range guided bombs launched from a Su-34 aircraft. Air defense units in southern Ukraine shot down two bombs. The third fell in an open area without consequences," the statement said.

Earlier, the Odesa Regional Military Administration and the Air Force reported that Russian forces had attacked the region with guided aerial bombs (KAB) for the first time. The enemy launched the bombs toward the towns of Pivdenne and Chornomorske.

Preliminary reports indicate that Russia used the UMPB-5 — a guided bomb with extended strike range.
