Russia does not weaken forces and continues rotations in Kherson region - Armed Forces
In the Kherson region, Russian forces have not weakened their grouping. On the contrary, they are carrying out rotations on the front line of their units, according to a spokesperson for the Tavria operational-strategic group, Dmytro Lykhovii.
"After the start of the Kursk operation by the Ukrainian Armed Forces, when the enemy was reallocating its units, including to the Kursk region, it removed most of these units from the Zaporizhzhia region, while in Kherson, the number of troops essentially remained the same. There, the Russians did not weaken their grouping; on the contrary, they are conducting rotations on the front line of their units," said Lykhovii.
According to him, the Russian forces are sending units, including Storm squads, to maintain the intensity of their assault actions in order to continue their attacks.
The spokesperson also noted that Russia has significantly intensified its activities on the islands along the left bank of the Dnipro River in the Kherson region and is persistently trying to dislodge Ukrainian units from their positions, which they have held since withdrawing from Krynky. Defense forces continue to hold the bridgeheads.
He also pointed out that this activation by the Russian troops can be considered the most significant in the past couple of months since the end of the active defense of Krynky when Ukrainian units moved to other designated positions on the left bank of the Dnipro River.
Previously, a spokesperson for the Tavria operational-strategic group Dmytro Lykhovii had mentioned that there is currently no reason to believe that Kherson is threatened by ground assaults from Russia. The bridgeheads on the left bank will help to hold off the enemy.
