Is there threat of Russian offensive on Kherson: Response from Armed Forces
Currently, there are no grounds to suggest that Kherson is under threat of a ground assault by Russia. The footholds on the left bank will allow us to hold back the enemy, according to the spokesperson for the Operational-Strategic Group of Forces Tavria, Dmytro Lykhovii.
According to Lykhovii, although there is no threat of an offensive against Kherson, the city is still being shelled by the enemy daily.
"There are no grounds to suggest that Kherson is under threat of any ground assaults. Yes, unfortunately, Kherson endures several shellings from Russian MLRS daily, but a Russian offensive is not a threat to the city," he stated.
Situation in Kherson
The city was occupied by the enemy at the beginning of the full-scale invasion. In November 2022, the Defense Forces carried out an operation during which, on November 11, they managed to enter Kherson, and the Russian forces retreated from the regional center, fleeing to the left bank of the Dnipro River.
For its resilience and courage, the city was awarded the title of Hero on March 6, 2022.
In the fall of 2023, it was also reported that our soldiers were securing positions on the left bank of the Kherson region, particularly at a foothold near the village of Krynky.
