On the morning of May 2, a large number of Russian ships were detected in the Black Sea. This poses a threat of shelling for Ukraine, reports the Ukrainian Navy.

As of 06:00 Kyiv time, Russia has deployed 15 ships in the Black Sea. Of these, 5 are equipped with cruise missiles of the Kalibr type, with a total salvo capacity of up to 34 missiles.

Meanwhile, no enemy ships have been detected in the Azov Sea. However, 3 enemy vessels have been spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, one of which is a Kalibr missile carrier with a total salvo capacity of up to 8 missiles.

Additionally, over the past 24 hours, in the interests of the aggressor country, Russia, the following ships have passed through the Kerch Strait:

  • to the Black Sea - 8 vessels, with 7 continuing towards the Bosporus Strait;
  • to the Azov Sea - 2 vessels, with 1 continuing its movement from the Bosporus Strait.

"Russia continues to violate the International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) of 1974 by disabling automatic identification systems," the report states.

A few weeks ago, the spokesperson of the Ukrainian Navy, Dmytro Pletenchuk, announced that Russia had begun the construction of a new amphibious assault ship in the occupied Crimea. The vessel is named Ivan Rogov, but its construction has not been completed, and there is no information yet on whether the enemy will put it into service.

"It is just a hull, not a combat unit yet," Pletenchuk said, emphasizing that one should not expect the construction to be completed quickly.
