On February 8, Russian troops used a North Korean KN 23 missile to shell Selidove, Donetsk region. One woman was killed and seven other people, including a child, were wounded in the attack on the town, according to Ukraine's Interior Ministry and the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office.

"The occupants fired 8 missiles at the city. One of them hit an apartment building. According to preliminary information, Russia used KN 23 and S-300 missiles for the attack," the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Ukraine says.

Law enforcement officials add that a 50-year-old woman died as a result of the shelling.

"Seven people were injured. Among them is a boy who is to turn 7 tomorrow, as well as two men aged 18 and 51, and four women aged 38, 42, 64, 88," the Ministry says.

According to the Donetsk regional prosecutor's office, the 50-year-old woman who died worked as a guard and was in the office, and her body was unblocked from the rubble of the destroyed administrative building. The child was diagnosed with a cut wound to the head, in addition to mine-blast injuries.

Not the first time Russia has used KN 23 to shell Ukraine

Yesterday, February 7, Russia launched a massive attack on Ukraine, using kamikaze drones and missiles. Kharkiv, in particular, was hit, causing damage to non-residential infrastructure. Later it became known that the Russian occupiers hit Kharkiv with missiles made in North Korea. Two out of five missiles were counted.

This is not the first time the Russian occupiers have launched a North Korean missile at Kharkiv. Such weapons were also used during the attack on the city on January 2, 2024.

Russian shelling of Selydove

On the night of February 8, the Russian invaders shelled the town of Selydove in the Donetsk region. The attack killed one person and injured seven others. The Russians fired seven times at the town. Three people were rescued from the rubble.
