Russia deploys missile carrier in Black Sea: Possible salvo of Kalibr missile named
In the Black Sea, the presence of a military vessel that Russia has deployed for combat duty has been observed. The ship is equipped with Kalibr-type cruise missiles, according to the Ukrainian Navy.
It is noted that this enemy ship is capable of launching up to four Kalibr missiles in a single salvo if a missile strike is conducted.
According to Ukrainian military sources, as of the morning of September 3, no enemy ships have been observed in the Sea of Azov.
Additionally, the Ukrainian Navy has reported that in the Mediterranean Sea, there are two ships from Russia, one of which is equipped with Kalibr missiles and can launch up to eight missiles in a single salvo.
The military also reported that over the past 24 hours, in the interests of Russia, the following vessels passed through the Kerch Strait:
- to the Black Sea: 6 ships, 2 of which continued toward the Bosporus Strait;
- to the Sea of Azov: 15 ships, 7 of which were coming from the Bosporus Strait.
Furthermore, the Ukrainian Navy has noted that Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling Automatic Identification Systems (AIS).
Following the massive combined strike on Ukraine at the beginning of last week, during which Russia also used Kalibr missiles from its naval grouping, enemy vessels have been regularly detected in the Black Sea.
Earlier, Defense Express reported that the Russian missile ship Amur was commissioned into the Caspian Flotilla of the Russian Navy. This vessel had previously been observed in the Black Sea.
