This morning, three Russian ships equipped with Kalibr-type cruise missiles were spotted in the Black Sea, as Russia deployed them for combat duty, reports the Ukrainian Navy.

The military reported that as of 6 a.m. Kyiv time on May 9, four enemy ships were spotted in the Black Sea, three of which are carriers of Kalibr missiles with a total possible salvo of up to 14 missiles.

Meanwhile, no Russian ships were observed in the Sea of Azov.

In addition, three Russian ships are currently spotted in the Mediterranean Sea, one of which is a missile carrier with a total possible salvo of up to 8 Kalibr missiles.

The Ukrainian Navy also reported that over the past day, in the interests of Russia, the following vessel movements were recorded through the Kerch Strait:

  • to the Black Sea - 5 ships, 3 of which continued toward the Bosphorus Strait;
  • to the Sea of Azov - 4 ships, 2 of which entered from the Bosphorus Strait.

"Russia continues to violate the 1974 International Convention for the Safety of Life at Sea (SOLAS) by disabling automatic identification systems," the military added.

On the night of April 24, during a massive combined attack, Russia launched 215 aerial targets at Ukraine, including 12 Kalibr cruise missiles. Ukrainian air defense forces successfully intercepted 48 missiles (including 6 Kalibrs) and 64 enemy UAVs, which lost radar tracking but caused no damage.

Additionally, in January, the partisan movement ATESH reported that the Russian army was restoring an old submarine base in occupied Crimea.
