Russia is actively helping Iran in the war with the United States and Israel, and may send its troops there, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy says in an interview with Irish blogger Caolan Robertson.

“Russia started supporting the Iranian regime with drones. It will definitely help with missiles, and it is also helping them with air defense. What’s next?" Zelenskyy said.

He emphasized that the key question now is which country could be the first to send troops to support the Iranian regime.

“As happened with Russia, when North Korea sent 10,000 soldiers, who are now deployed in Russia but can be sent to Ukraine. The same could happen in Iran – Russia could send troops there,” the president noted.

Russia’s role in the Middle East conflict

Russia’s role in conflicts in the Middle East and Europe is becoming increasingly active. The UK intelligence is investigating a possible Kremlin trace in the incident involving drones that attacked a British carrier strike group.

Moscow stated that Russia is not a neutral party. It supports Iran in the conflict with Israel and considers the actions of Western countries in this situation to be unfair.

Meanwhile, Iran officially confirmed its close partnership with Russia and rejected the possibility of a truce with Israel.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that at the beginning of Russia’s full-scale war against Ukraine, Moscow used drones with Iranian components to attack the country. Now, however, Iran is receiving Russian components, allowing Tehran to attack other countries in the Middle East and US bases.
