Russian propaganda is spreading rumors about the capture of the village of Novoplatonivka in the Kharkiv region. This is one more enemy fake, according to the Center for Countering Disinformation.
Information about the capture of Novoplatonivka in the Kupiansk direction is being spread by Russian Telegram channels and pro-Russian war correspondents.

"In reality, these reports are false. Novoplatonivka remains under the control of the Ukrainian Armed Forces," the 10th Army Corps of the Ukrainian military confirmed.
The center added that Russia uses these false narratives to create an illusion of success and demoralize Ukrainian society.
Russian fake claims
Russia regularly lies about its successes on the front lines.
In December, for example, it claimed to have taken control of the village of Novodanylivka in the Zaporizhzhia region. However, Ukrainian defenders later released a video showing them capturing Russian soldiers in that same village.
Also in December, Russian leader Vladimir Putin claimed that Russian forces had captured Vovchansk and Pokrovsk, but fighting is still ongoing in both locations.
Recently, the 7th Air Assault Corps of the Ukrainian Armed Forces reported that Russian forces are trying to break into the northern part of Pokrovsk, but Ukrainian defenders are holding them back.
Ukrainian military officials emphasized that the Russians are sending small groups in their assaults. Fighting is also continuing in settlements near Pokrovsk.
