Russia bombs Kharkiv homes: Number of casualties surges, including children

Russia has carried out another airstrike on two districts of Kharkiv. Currently, one fatality and nine injuries, including children, have been reported, according to statements by Kharkiv Mayor Ihor Terekhov and Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov.

At 15:28 Kyiv time, Syniehubov stated that enemy guided aerial bombs (KABs) had struck the Slobidskyi and Nemyshlianskyi districts of Kharkiv.
"No information on casualties has been received yet. All emergency services are operating in an enhanced mode," he said.
Later, the number of injured began to rise rapidly. Terekhov clarified that the airstrikes hit residential areas.
"One of the enemy guided aerial bombs hit a residential building. There are casualties. Inspection of the impact sites is ongoing," he reported.
He also noted that in one of the impact locations, a residential building was completely destroyed, and a person may be trapped under the rubble.
"Two more people were injured by the enemy strike."
At 15:48 Kyiv time, it became known that one person had died in the Nemyshlianskyi district. Six others were injured in the Slobidskyi district.
"The number of injured has risen to nine. Among them are children," the mayor noted.
Later, Syniehubov added details regarding the destruction of buildings caused by the Russian strike:
- In the Slobidskyi district, impacts were recorded between private houses. Approximately 10 households, office buildings, an educational institution, and at least six vehicles were damaged.
- In the Nemyshlianskyi district, a private house was hit. Approximately 10 nearby houses were also damaged.
Efforts to eliminate the consequences of the attack are ongoing.
Head of the Kharkiv Regional Military Administration Oleh Syniehubov clarified that the number of casualties has reached 17 people, including a young boy.
"One of the injured, a 48-year-old man, is currently in the operating room. Everyone is receiving the necessary medical assistance," he stated.

Medics are providing all necessary assistance to the injured.
According to the latest data, 31 people were injured as a result of the enemy attack, including two children.
Search and rescue operations at the impact sites are ongoing.
According to the mayor, about 50 private houses were damaged, and an office building and power grids were also affected.
Amid constant attacks, the city is preparing for a difficult winter period.
"We are indeed seeing an increase in strikes on the city of Kharkiv and other cities on the eve of the heating season," Terekhov emphasized, adding that a very difficult heating season lies ahead for the city.
Russia also continues its targeted terror against civilian services. On October 2, an FPV drone attacked a vehicle of the Gazmerzh brigade, in which five specialists were traveling to repair work.
On the afternoon of September 30, Russian troops attacked Kharkiv with a drone, hitting a shopping mall. One injury was reported.
Furthermore, overnight on September 28, Russian units struck the Kyivskyi and Saltivskyi districts of the city with guided aerial bombs. Twenty-two people were injured, including eight children.
